The drivers of two vehicles travelling westbound on the Beltline were engaged in a road rage incident that resulted in a rollover Wednesday afternoon, according to the Madison Police Department.
Police said a 64-year-old Madison man began hitting his brakes when he felt he was being tailgated at about 2:40 p.m. The driver of the car behind him became upset at the braking and sped up to pass, police said. The driver then attempted to cut in front of the first car, striking the front bumper with his rear bumper, police said.
The driver of the passing car lost control and eventually rolled over on to the shoulder of the highway, police said.
No one was injured in the crash.
The driver of the passing car was cited for improper passing, police said.
