The Madison Police Department said Tuesday it will target roadways on the south, east and west sides of town in an upcoming three-day speed enforcement detail, according to a news release.
The city’s Traffic Enforcement Safety Team said it will focus on traffic near:
SOUTH
- 1800 Fish Hatchery Road, a 30 mph zone, on Tuesday
EAST
- 3400 Block Highway 30, a 45 mph zone, on Wednesday
WEST
- 8400 Block Mineral Point Road, a 35 mph zone on Thursday
The Madison Police Department said it is intending to improve community safety by increasing compliance with traffic laws through education and enforcement.
Although law enforcement efforts are an important part of public safety, Madison police Sgt. Eric Tripke said the department relies on the cooperation of the public to be aware of and to follow traffic laws as a pedestrian, bicyclist or motorist.
