This Labor Day, the South Central Federation of Labor will host its annual LaborFest celebration.
The event features music and dancing starting at 12:30 p.m. LaborFest regulars The Westside Andy / Mel Ford Band will perform, followed by Paul Cebar Tomorrow Sound at 3 p.m.
Attractions for children include a bouncy house, balloons and face painting, as well as a piñata and performances by Madison magician Scott the Great.
Food, beer, and soft drinks will also be served. Menu items include Italian sausage, corn on the cob, Louisiana-style rice and beans, hot dogs and chips.
At 2:15 p.m. the Solidarity Roll Call will take place.
Admission is free but attendees are urged to bring non-food household items, such as toothpaste, shampoo, paper products or detergent, for distribution at local food pantries.
The event takes place Monday, Sept. 3 from 12:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Madison Labor Temple, located at 1602 South Park St.
