Community asked for survey review and feedback

South Madison Promise Zone will host Get it Right Night Wednesday to review results from the community and service provider survey of south Madison.

Get it Right Night will be at Lincoln Elementary school from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.  There, residents can review and provide feedback on the results from the survey given to residents of Bram's Addition, Burr Oaks and Capitol View neighborhoods.  Twenty percent of adults, of 468 residents, completed the survey.

"Often times, people in authority tend to think they know what is best for our communities of color and then create programs based on what they know," said Peng Her, director of the South Madison Promise Zone.  "We wanted a different approach.  We wanted to ask residents what challenges and aspirations they have and then mobilize service providers together with residents to identify solutions."
