World Dairy Expo Celebrates Opening Day | Events
Visitors from around the world started arriving this week in Madison for the World Dairy Expo at the Alliant Energy Center.
The Super Bowl of the dairy industry opened on Tuesday, welcoming visitors from 90 different countries to the 45th annual expo.
This year's show will treat visitors to a virtual trip "Around the World of Dairy in 5 Days."
It's a big deal to the local economy and to the farmers who work all year for a chance to show at the expo.
"This year's dairy expo is going to be fabulous," said John Rozum, World Dairy Expo site manager. "We've got 810 companies from 28 countries here to show the world what's out there in terms of new products, new technology and new things to help farmers make more money on the farm."
The five-day event opened runs through Saturday. It's expected to draw more than 60,000 people from around the world.
