Man accused of sexually assaulting cognitively disabled woman | Crime
Police arrested a registered sex offender suspected of assaulting a cognitively disabled woman Thursday night.
The Madison Police Department said 42-year-old Quentin D. Cowart, of Madison, was in his car on the 2000 block of Lake Point Drive at about 10:06 p.m.
Cowart called the 19-year-old woman to his car and attempted to get her to go with him, according to the report. The woman refused to leave but told police Cowart kissed and touched her inappropriately while she was near him.
Police said the woman had seen Cowart before but did not know him.
Cowart denied sexually assaulting the woman, police said.
Cowart was arrested on suspicion of second-degree sexual assault and on an unrelated domestic battery.
