Victim tells police robbers tied him up, pistol whipped, burned him

Police said a Madison man was pistol whipped and burned during a robbery on Madison's far west side Monday.

According to the Madison Police Department, a 36-year-old man told police he was at an apartment in the 2300 block of Carling Drive when three men forced entry.

The 36-year-old told police he was tied up, clubbed with a firearm and burned with an iron during the robbery.

The three robbers stole the man's money and cellphone, police said.

The man showed up at a gas station on Verona Road shortly after 5 a.m. Monday to call police. He first told officers the robbery took place not long before he called 911 but later said it could have happened around 10:30 p.m.

The 36-year-old was treated at a hospital, the report noted.
