Police: Man cuts, strikes another with baseball bat | Crime
Police said a Madison man was charged in connection with an early morning attack Christmas Eve.
The Madison Police Department said Leo Cowan, 44, and a 45-year-old man were staying at a West Badger Road apartment Dec. 24 when the attack took place at about 5:30 a.m.
The 45-year-old told police that on Christmas Eve, Cowan cut him on the neck and hand with a knife and used a baseball bat to strike him in the head.
Cowan was in Dane County Jail when the victim reported the incident Thursday morning, police said.
The 45-year-old victim, who has no permanent address, was taken to the hospital Thursday to have his injuries checked.
Cowan was tentatively charged with second-degree reckless endangerment, police said.
