The Southside Raiders football and cheerleading teams will be sporting new uniforms at their homecoming this weekend.
The Boys & Girls Club of Dane County and representatives from the Madison Shamrock Shuffle will unveil the uniforms at the event Saturday. The homecoming event will begin at 10 a.m. at Penn Park.
“We are really excited that we were able to provide this opportunity for our local kids,” said Michael Johnson, CEO of the Boys & Girls Club of Dane County. “I am so happy to see them in new uniforms representing our community. We are so thankful to Shamrock Shuffle,” says Johnson.
The Shamrock Shuffle named the Boys & Girls Club as the sole beneficiary of their race. Proceeds will support the Club’s healthy living and wellness initiatives, said a press release. The Raiders have needed uniforms for years.
“It has been a pleasure of Madison Shamrock Shuffle to make Boys & Girls Club the soul recipient of the funds from our race”, said Julia Voss, Madison Shamrock Shuffle Board Treasurer. We look forward to next year’s giving opportunity to help provide support to help the health & awareness programs for the kids,” said Voss.
